barFree 1.02

New Features in V1.02

  • Added Mount button (Experimental).Place from Normal bag into special button then you can place mount anywhere you want after that, even back into CS shop. click to mount, the experiment I need feed back for is click to dismount, it should in theory , please let me know, with exact name as on tooltip of mount and what the buff reads, my alternative is to use a database.
  • added button Strata.
  • added Macro being able to call button using UsebarFree().
  • added abililty when pressing CTRL-Z for buttons to hide , as they didn't before.

Aswell as

  • 50 Additional Skinable, Scale-able, and Free Moving buttons.
  • You can drag and drop from your Action Bar or Normal bag into any button.
  • Accepts and uses Skills,Items and Macros
  • Aswell as saving for each class which buttons you placed things in, you also have 6 diffrent layouts you can save, Use layout one and move things around, then use layout 2 and move buttons where you want, easy switch between layouts
  • Skin those buttons how you want, easy to place your own.
  • Buffs you have cast upon yourself or items/skills that do that for you get highlighted on the corresponding button, to cancel buff simply right click the highlighted button.
  • Your Macros can call buttons using UsebarFree( the number of button)
  • Cooldowns shown as normal on barFree buttons.
  • For is the skill usable and Autoshow when ready feature Skills must also be on Action bar (hidden is ok aslong as the skill is there it will act as normal).

Configuring

Open up Config by pressing minimap button, (sword/shield) which when you first start addon appears in the center of your minimap. List of options in config

  • Move your buttons around the screen in config mode, they are locked in normal mode to stop any unwanted mistakes.
  • Choose which Skin you want from drop down menu.
  • Choose whether you would like the skin Glossy or not
  • Show All button
  • Hide All button
  • Reset postions for that layout back to original positions button.
  • Hide All unused Buttons.
  • Lock all buttons to stop any dragging and dropping.
  • Change layout you have stored by using slider.

Config for each button:

Press the button you want to configure

  • In the title shows the button number, incase you need to know.
  • Scaling using slider, or alternatively use Mouse wheel over the button to scale.
  • Show/Hide button
  • Set strata for the button, Useful if you want to place over another skill and autoshow when ready. Also useful for placing over artwork, v1.02 fixed issue with not appearing above artwork.
  • Additional option of Autoshow when ready will appear if you have a skill in the button and it is also placed anywhere on your action bars.
Using your skins in barFree

First create a folder in \Addons\barFree\Graphics and give the folder your skin name, then

Create your tgas 64 x 64 pixels called

  • Normal, Pushed, Highlight,Overlay (Gloss effect), Active (for highlighting buffs) and place in your folder.
  • Next go back to Graphics folder, and locate Skins_list.lua
  • Open it (Notepad will do)
  • There you will see a list of skins in quotes "circle", for example, find the next empty space and place the exact name of your skin in quotes followed by commar.
  • that's done save and exit, Job done, next time you play your skin is in drop down menu to choose.
Important notes

While using barFree please note as there is an absence of a GetCursorInfo() command, barFree monitors Actionbar and the first 90 slots of your normal bags, it is only from there it will recognize what you are trying to drag into the buttons. So if you wish to place something from anywhere like Macro or Skills you first have to place it on action bar , then move it to buttons.

Again no GetSkillUsable() command means for skill availability it has to use GetActionUsable meaning if you want the Buttons to act like action buttons for showing if ready, the skill has to be still on action bar for barFree to be able to do this option. That being said the Action bars can still be hid and it works fine as long as skill is there.

Hotkeys are the same way at the moment till I can get my settings to save properly in bindings and execute, that is pending.

And Finally

Thank you for your interest and I hope you enjoy using barFree and if any problems please post, I may not get back to you straight away, but I will eventually:)

Do you know how to save the changes in BarF2? When i want to set a keybind it just resets after the next launch of the game...

    Some feature requests:
-It would be nice if I could Group some Buttons, so they can be modified together.
-I would like to have a slash command that toggles your Buttons groupwise or all together on or off.
-Is it possible to increase the number of Buttons? It may sound stupid, but I could use around 150.

Use barF2 with barFree will give you 130 buttons:) and barF2 has so many features it's hard to describe but basically it totally replaces games Actionbars and adds alot more besides.

I can't seem to change my class whatsoever without an error at the top of my screen that states "Call barFree_51's OnUpdate, line: [string "?"]:788: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)" that does not go away no matter what I do. Nor can I do anything with the mod at all. Now I got it stuck and am including a picture as well.

I would like to see support for addon manager included that way it is easier for me to keep all my buttons in one place.

I have considered that option, but as of yet, not come to the conclusion it would actually help the end user with this Addon because of its very nature, it has to be change-able especially while Toons are at lower levels, , and although AddonManager has become more user friendly, it is still not quick enough to change things on the fly in my opinion, may be I shall put an option in, for the user to make that decision. I am afterall no profesional coder, just an amateur on his 2nd project ever, trying to do the best and sharing it with others.

I believe the way addon manager works, if you add support for addon manager your addon will work with or without it.

I would prefer if the macros on the bar would list the title I have given them rather than the slash commands contained inside.

Also I cant seem to pull my mount onto this bar. I think it is because it is always in my CS Bag. It works for me from my actionbar. SOme of my other skills I have to move arround on my action bar several times before I can get them to pull onto yours.

I also got several errors refering to PBinfo after installing your mod but I cant remember what they were since I have removed this for the time being.

I have fixed the macro issue, for you in next version.
Also in next version is an experimental mount button, you do have to first have it any where in your normal bags for barFree to log it, but you can then drag and drop into button. Then place your mount back in your CS Bag if you wish it doesn't matter. Now it should mount you that's the easy part, the experiment is it searches for part of the name in buffs and if it finds it, it will dismount you when you click again.

As for the errors I have not run into any in all the hours of testing and playing around with pbinfo etc, I love that addon and keep it upto date, if and when you decide to use this Addon again, could you take a pic please of any errors, I can try to isolate what may have caused it for you.

I notice you are using Slays (I am also) and in screen 3 & 4 you have the hotkeys set over the bottom art, I tried to set this up lastnight and the hotkeys keep going behind the bottom art, what did you do to fix this?
