Description

This addon offers a new way for trading mods in-game. You can easily offer your mods to everyone with this addon and easily buy them from others.

How selling works?

You can select a range of bank slots that will be used for trading mods. This slots are then scanned and all mods (yellow V or more, clean or spoiled with 1 spoil; green IX or more with max 1 spoil) on items or stones are added to your trading database. Messages about your offers are then sent periodically (but no spam) into private trading channel.

Selling tutorial

  1. Put items with mods / Mana Stones in your bank. Putting them one after another is recommended.
  2. Now you need to decide on which slots range in your bank you have the items. Bank numbering is following: Slots in the first bank tab are numbered 1-40, second 41-80 etc. It's numbered by rows, so for example numbers 36-45 are the last row from first tab and first row from second tab.
  3. Open the addon window by typing /mt
  4. Go to sell tab
  5. Now type the range of slots in your bank to input fields above the "Scan" button. Scanning can take a while, so be patient. After scanning, you will see information about found items
  6. Now you can click START offering to enable it

How buying works?

All other players with this addon, connected to this channel, recieve information about your offers and construct their own database. After this, they can search through that database for mods and spoils they want. Addon offers an easy interface for mod and spoil searching. If you find mod that you want, you are given the name of seller and you can start a businnes with him.

Buying tutorial

To find desired mod:

  1. Open addon window by typing /mt
  2. Now you can search mods. In the status bar on bottom of the window, you can see how many mods are in your database (offers recieved from you and others with addon)
  3. You can search by mod name, spoil name, seller, tier and mods only on Mana Stones. You can combine all filters to more accurate searching
  4. If you find what you want, you will see a name of seller of this mod

NOTE: It can take up to 2minutes and 30seconds to fill your database with offers from other users - because this is the interval of sending offers.

Other features

  • Automatically starts offering upon login - just select it in settings and make sure you have your bank scanned
  • Whisp redirection - if you are using more clients at once, you can redirect your whisps to your main playing char to catch all buyers
  • Auto update notification - if there's new version, you will recieve a message ingame
  • Mods info - mouseover some stat in search tab and see what it does
  • .. and more

Localisation

Addon localised completely in EN and DE.

Uninstallation

When you remove ModTrader, you will stay connected to the shared channel, but messages will be visible because normally ModTrader itself blocks them. Just type /leave ModTrader to leave the channel and stop recieving those messages. Then save your game (leave the game normally - crash will not save your settings) to leave the channel permanently.

What I want from you

The more people using this addon, the more offers you will find! So if you like this addon, recommend it to your friends and please rate it! Also, if you have some positive or negative feedback, write it here. I will also appreciate if you write any errors you will find.

    Hi I found a problem with the tiers.

    For instance, I have a level 54 blue tier 3 item that, when bound to a fusion stone, makes a Tier 4 mana stone. I believe a level 50 or higher purple item also makes T4 Mana stones.

    Is it possible when your addon does it's scan that it take into account the color and level of the item and calculate the correct tier?

    It turns out that Modtrader does take into account the item color when calculating the tier. The problem is the blue item threshold. It's set to 55 when it should be 54.

    So the below fix if for those people who have level 54 blue items who want to list them correctly as tier 4;

    1. Open ModLevels.lua.
    2. Find this line (around line 22);
    ["0072BC"] = 5,
    3 Change to;
    ["0072BC"] = 6,

    Hopefully this will be of help until the dev fixes this.

    Note. This only fixes what you are selling so what you see from other people will still be wrong unless they also made this change.

    Hi, the reason why is it like that is because ModTrader is done by formula that was discussed a lot on official forums - like you say, calculation based on required level and item color. Green color always added 2 levels, blue 5 levels, violet 10 levels and orange 13 levels. Then, counted together:

    lvl 1-19: Tier 1
    lvl 20-39: Tier 2
    lvl 40-59: Tier 3
    lvl 60-79: Tier 4 etc..

    Because lvl 19 is Tier 1, lvl 39 is tier 2, I supposed, like lot of others, that item with 'virtual' level 59 will be Tier 3. If it's like that, these tier level intervals has to change, not the level addition of blue items, which I hope is right (raise by 5 levels).

    But correct me if I am wrong :)

    I've been able to test it with another item.

    I purchased a cheap level 14 hammer.

    It produces a tier 2 mana stone.

    I think it's conclusive, blue items add 6 levels when calculating the tier of the resulting mana stone.

    I hope you change it soon.

    Thanks for testing, I will release updated version as soon as I test some more things, but I am now unable to do it because my internet connection at home is broken - maybe in a few days.

    I only have the 1 blue item to test it with. It is a blue level 54 dagger and it definitely shows as a tier 4 mana stone in the transmutor preview. When I first had this explained to me a couple of weeks ago I was told the blue level was 54 so I think its been like that at least a couple of weeks.

    If you want it tested with other blue items someone else will have to do it.

    So if anyone else has any level 54 blue item and a fusion stone could you please put them in the transmutor and see if the preview shows a tier 4 mana stone. Then share the results with us here.

    There is also semi-official info about that: http://forum.runesofmagic.com/showpost.php?p=1048273&postcount=2

    If it's not like this anymore (or only with 54 blue items), it's maybe a bug in the game or the values have changed. It has to be tested on other blue items, if they make correct tier or not.

    In the German Client there's a problem with the Manastones. Modtrader 1.7.0 don't find even one stone.

    Yeah, I know about it, but I cant really find why this problem exists. I will try to fix it soon but really dont have much time.

    any way that we can see a list of our mods for sale and add a small note to each. (selling for 100K) (trading for fang V) etc.

    You can see your mods if you search for your name, but I don't plan to add prices yet due to much more complexity and changes in addon communication. But shift-clicking is definitely a good idea!

    I would also like to be able to shift click on the players name to add a link into chat, for helping others find what they need.

    Any chance this can be modified to make a new addon to offer 2 stat fusion stones? AH sucks for it as it only searches the first 500 stones

    With version 1.5.0 you noted that the addon can be used without InventoryViewer, but when I go to SCAN my bank, I get an error.

    call ModTrader_Frame's OnEvent, line: [string "?"]:214: attempt to index global 'g_InventoryViewerTable' (a nil value)

    I'm not an experienced programmer or anything, but I believe there is still a reliance on IV's code that you've yet to remove.

    No, maybe this is caused by not opening your bank before. You have to open your bank at least once before using the SCAN in addon. InventoryViewer's variables are used to ensure combatibility with previous version, but you don't have to have that addon - ModTrader saves bank data to this variable itself.

    But you are right that this error should not be visible, I will fix it, thanks

    very interesting addon too bad it needs an addon i totally dislike, waiting for this addon to work by its own instead of needing a crappy 1 to work.
