Worldmap

READ FIRST!

• To see the dungeon maps you need to download the mappacks! (link at the bottom of description)

• If you place the maps at this location, the maps are independent from the addon. If they are not displayed correctly than it isn't an addon problem.

• You can use the maps without the addon, too.

• The addon only provide functions for easier handling the worldmap functions.

• Clients with an lower version than the european/usa client may have to use the appropriate mappack for a correct function of the worldmap. (especially for other clients like JP, TR ...)

What is WoWMap?

Tired of having to work your way through that annoying dropdown menu every time you want to check something on a different map? Then WoWMap is for You! The aim of WoWMap is to make the worldmap of RoM feel like you may know it from WoW i.e. the map handling will be changed to feel more like WoW.

How does it work?

WoWMap replaces the actions that are performed when you click the on the map. Note though: The original actions (pinging and the dropdown menu) are still available via shift-click! New are:

• Rightclick: Zooms the map out by one level e.g. when you are displaying a zone map it will change to the worldmap, when you are displaying the map of Varanas it will change to the map of Silverfall.
• Leftclick: When you click a zoomable area on the map (e.g. Silvervall on the worldmap or Varanas on the map of Silverfall) WoWMap zooms in on that area.

Notes

The clickable areas on the worldmap are not exactly accurate. Just click somewhere near the zonename to be save.

How to install?

Just extract WoWMap into the \Interface\AddOns folder within your RoM installation directory. If this folder doesn't already exist, create one. Done!

If the addon doesn't work with the linked maps try to load the maps with the local mappack. To install the maps download and unpack the maps into the Interface folder. (be sure that the folder is named "worldmap" if not then rename it!)

Deutsch: Was ist WoWMap?

Keine Lust mehr, dich jedes mal durch das lästige Dropdown-Menü zu kämpfen, wenn du mal eben etwas auf einer anderen Karte nachsehen möchtest? Dann ist WoWMap für dich! Das Ziel von WoWMap ist es, die Karte von RoM in Sachen Bedienung der von WoW anzunähern.

Wie funktioniert es?

WoWMap ersetzt was geschieht, wenn man die Karte anklickt. Aber: Die Standardaktionen (Pingen und das Menü) sind immer noch per Shift-Klick erreichbar! Neu ist:

• Rechtsklick: Zoomt die Karte eine Ebene heraus. Wenn z.B. eine Zone angezeigt wird, wechselt es zur Weltkarte, wenn die Karte von Varanas aktiv ist, wechselt es auf die Karte von Silberquell.
• Linksklick: Wenn man auf ein zoombares Gebiet klickt (z.B. Silberquell auf der Weltkarte oder Varanas auf der Silberquell-Karte) wird die Karte dieses Gebietes angezeigt.

Anmerkungen

Die anklickbaren Flächen auf der Weltkarte entsprechen nicht genau den Umrissen der Gebiete. Klickt einfach in die Nähe des Namens, wenn ihr sicher sein wollt.

Wie installiert man WoWMap?

Extrahiert einfach den Inhalt des Zip-Archivt in den \Interface\AddOns Ordner in Eurem RoM Installationsverzeichnis. Wenn dieser Ordner noch nicht existiert, legt einfach einen an. Um die Dungeonkarten zu sehen wird noch das Mappack entsrechend der eingestellten Sprache benötigt. Einfach in den Interface Ordner entpacken und fertig. (sollte der Ordner im mappack nicht "worldmap" heißen, dann bitte dahin umbenennen!)
